OCFS Definition of Terms Used: "Certified Boarding Homes are those individuals who only want to provide foster care and are not interested in adoption. Relative Foster Homes are those individuals who only want to provide foster care to children they are related to. Pre-Adoptive Homes are those individuals who want to adopt children. They may also take foster care placements pending an adoptive placement."

MAPS Reports: Monitoring and Analysis Profiles (MAPS) are data packages which provide information on the major child welfare services provided by county Departments of Social Services (DSS). NYS Kids Well-Being Indicators Clearinghouse Website - Offers numerous formats for accessing and displaying Touchstone/Kids Count data, including pre-defined and custom reports/maps. Includes links to other federal and state data sites and resources.
