LINK Family Fall Gathering

Saturday • October 5, 2002 • Syracuse, NY

Presented by the NYS Citizens' Coalition for Children, Inc.

About the

Gathering

The gathering will focus on thinking differently about relationships of all kinds: between foster parents, birth parents, caseworkers, providers, and each other. Fun, thought-provoking activities and group discussions will provide you with an opportunity to learn about and from each other and think creatively about possibilities for change. Together we will explore team building and leadership skills; taking responsibility for your own information and problem solving; low, to no-cost projects to support foster parents; and proactive relationships with professionals.

Please join with us and other LINK family parents as we expand and strengthen our regional network of knowledgeable foster parents who serve as supportive resources to other families facing the new realities and challenges of permanency planning.

Registration
Information

To register for the LINK Family Gathering, please complete and return the registration form on the next page. Registration is FREE to any NYS foster parent. We strongly urge each county to send two representatives each of whom will recruit and bring another parent. Let us know how we can help to be sure you'll be able to attend.

The training workshops and luncheon will be provided at no cost. Reimbursement for child care expenses is available at $5.00 an hour. We ask only that you LINK with another foster parent and come together!

LINK Family Project

LINK Families is a NYSCCC program supported by The Salvation Army of Syracuse through their federally-funded concurrent planning project. Recognizing that a strong support system for foster parents is vital to their ability to assist children through the concurrent planning process, NYSCCC is committed to developing a strong foster parent network in every county.
