Foster families...
Support services are available
As foster parents, you are not alone in your efforts to provide care for the child in your home. Foster parenting, like child-rearing in general, is not without problems. In those instances when extra family resources are necessary, the casework staff is available to suggest and coordinate services or offer direct consultation as needed. The agency staff will talk with the foster parents about plans for the child's future. Through these efforts, the agency hopes to maintain a team approach for providing for the child.Foster parents receive a monthly fee for the board and care of each foster child, according to the age and needs of the child. Clothing allowances are provided for each child three times a year. All medical, dental and pharmacy fees are paid for by the Department.
