Registration
To register for the conference, please complete and return the registration form. Be sure to indicate your workshop choices!
Registration is FREE for up to two representatives of all CCC member parent groups or associations. If your parent group or association is not paid up for 1999, you may join when registering for the conference. Annual dues are $35.
We encourage each parent group to send two representatives. This is the way to get the most out of the training and strengthen the leadership of your group. (More than two representatives from the same parent group are welcome to attend, space permitting, at a charge of $15 per person.)
Newly formed and emerging parent groups and associations are welcome. Let us know how we can help to be sure you'll attend!
Registration deadline is April 30, 1999. Space is limited, so please register as early as possible! Questions? Call us at 607-272-0034, or email jennifer@nysccc.org
The purpose of the 2nd annual computer training is to continue to provide opportunities for New York State's foster and adoptive parents to learn how to use and apply the latest computer technology. Skills learned at the conference will increase the effectiveness, competency, and participation of New York State adoptive and foster parent groups and associations. With these skills, parent groups leaders can provide improved support, recruitment, and advocacy services.
Why Computer Training?
Because children awaiting adoption need all the help they can get, and because adoptive and foster families have increased needs for ongoing support and education. The adoption and foster care community cannot be left behind as new resources develop. As one parent group leader said, "The train has left the station and we have got to get on board!"
This conference provides an opportunity for advocates throughout the state to "get on board." From computer basics for beginners to website design and maintenance for more experienced users, here is your chance to learn how to put these tools to work for children and families.
This Conference is For You!
We've planned this conference for adoptive and foster parents who are beginners, intermediate, and advanced computer users. Whether you've never touched a computer or you're an old hand, come join the fun!

About the CoalitioNet Project
The CoalitioNet project and this conference are made possible by a grant to the New York State Citizens' Coalition for Children, Inc. from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (Grant #90-CO-0822). The grant enables us to award mini-grants to New York State adoptive and foster parent groups, to develop a statewide electronic communications network, to help develop new adoptive and foster parent groups, and to provide a variety of training opportunities and up-to-date information services for the adoption and foster care community.
Through the activities of the CoalitioNet project, we will increase adoptive placements in New York State and increase support services available to adoptive and foster families. We welcome your interest, participation, and support. Please contact the Coalition office at any time to learn more.
